Denizens (魔界人 Makaibito?), less commonly known as replicants (レプリカント repurikanto?), are a race of human-like beings who inhabit the Underworld, Felicidad.
Overview[]
Widely believed to have been created by the Magus Diluculum, denizens are in fact a product his companion Dentro, one of the Three Angels of Creation, modeled after the humans of the human realm. Many denizens are physically identical to humans, while others have demonic or animalistic features such as horns, animal ears, and differing shades of skin. They are capable of harnessing Magia to grow and control monsters as Farmagia, or to perform magic spells.
Although denizens are capable of natural reproduction, Dentro has occasionally created new denizens himself after steep declines in their population, such as when they fall victim to Diluculum's continent-devastating Harvest Festival spell. Upon death, the denizens' souls are absorbed into the Sefirot and recycled into the Expanse of Chaos, where they are reincarnated as part of the Law of Recurrence.
Advanced Replicants[]
Advanced Replicants (支配者型・魔界人 Adobansuto Repurikanto?) are a rarer variety of denizen that is personally created by Diluculum himself. They are thus infused with a unique aspect of the Magus's essence, which grants them a level of power nearly on par with that of an angel, making them capable of feats impossible for average replicants such as Unite Blitzes, Fusion, and feeding.
They are born with the intent to serve as leaders to the denizens and boost monster production on the continents, unknowingly providing the Magus with more souls on which to feed. The most promising Advanced Replicants are chosen as candidates for the Oración Seis; until Ten's generation, very few Advanced Replicants survived the Magus's selection process, which involved sending them into the world as infants to fend for themselves.
